This is the opening to a novel I hope to release one day soon. It is basically a spoiler for the comic book series I am working on, containing all the back story and the result of the cliffhanger ending, so it would be good to bring the comics to a close before I put this out. If I can wait that long!
The idea was to have three books in one. It will take a very matter-of-fact lead character and simple story in the first book, and send them into this epic science-fiction world in the second, culminating in a marriage of both worlds in the third.
What is posted here is the setup. It is not so long that you can’t read it off the interwebs, and it will give you a good feel for the tone of the works.
THE FEAR. a novel
The Fear, working title, is a novel I wrote while living in isolation in the small seaside town of Tofino. Its madness kept me sane.
I am not expecting, not hoping, nor would I encourage anyone to read an entire novel off a computer, Ipad be damned. It will one day be in book form, with illustrations, so I would advise waiting until then. It is up here more as a sneak preview, to get you all riled up! The soon-to-be published version has a different ending and one less character, so this here would be the alternate, posted for posterity.
What is it about?
In a nutshell.
Man meets girl, man dies, becomes part of the universe, solves mysteries of the universe, attempts to use said knowledge to unite himself with girl…with mixed results.
oh, and aliens.
(Plenty of animal protagonists too).
