Hank Pine was born to the Republic of British Columbia December 30, 1977. He spent his early years wrestling cougars in the wilds of BC, reading comics with his bros and scribbling red circles for hours. He has lived in Toronto, Montreal and abroad, but prefers to be by the water.

As a musician, he has voraciously toured North America and Europe countless times with his vaudeville-themed cabaret show based upon his hit comic book series ‘The Hank and Lily Show’, since their inception in 2004.

By combining a sleek comic book graphic style with socially relevant lyrics, totally irreverent swagger, and stirring cello music, Hank Pine is a multimedia force to be reckoned with.

He is huge. It’s a known fact.

As an author and illustrator of several books and comics, he has published ‘The Little Book of Dying‘ and ‘61 Fun‘ as well as several Hank and Lily based comic books. His illustrations have appeared in magazines, graphic art collections, and even a coffee table book! Inspired by nature, fascinated by science and confused by humanity, Hank spends his time playing music, drinking whiskey, drawing, and flying kites at the beach.

For those who are interested in the chronology;

Hank Pine started as writer. Then a painter. That led to comics, where a balance was found. This led to doing posters for musicians, which led to forming a band of his own, Touring the world with the band based upon his comics soon followed. From that he started to make music videos for his band, which led to theatrical productions based upon the live rock show. This led to big paintings for backdrops and murals, which begat illustration work for money. This in turn led to more travels, which brought adrenaline, joy and loss. This led to him writing about all of these adventures for some magazines, which led back to writing, where we started.

What was the moral of all this?

Mr. Pine sees little distinction between these art forms, as one always involves some of the other. In this cross-market, multimedia age, Hank hopes there is something here for everyone.
